GIRONA AIRPORT BUSES
For passengers arriving at Girona Airport who need to reach the Barcelona City Centre, an airport bus can be an efficient, reliable method of transport. Recently, to meet surging consumer demand, the airport has increased its supply of airport buses. The Girona Airport provides four different buses, all of which can be found at the communal stop just outside of the arrivals area (near the taxi depot). Although the buses are independently operated and not affiliated with the airport, bus departures are strategically scheduled to coordinate with flight arrival times.

Bus Routes to Barcelona
The most popular bus route from Girona Airport is a direct trip into the Barcelona City Centre. The Barcelona bus can be caught at regular intervals throughout the day, so if you miss one you can rest assured that another will be departing soon. Depending on traffic, the bus ride to Barcelona will take approximately 80 minutes. You’ll depart the bus at Estacio d' Autobusos Barcelona Nord (Barcelona's main bus terminal) in the heart of the Barcelona city centre. From there, the Metro Underground transit system is only a 5-10 minute walk, if you should need connecting transport to your final destination.

To purchase bus tickets, visit the ticket office inside the Girona Airport arrivals hall. The ticket office’s hours of operation are from 08:00 – 02:00 7 days a week. Bus tickets can be purchased up to 30 days in advance. The cost of a bus ticket from the Girona Airport to Barcelona (or vice versa) is €13.80 one way. Please note that tickets cannot be purchased directly on the bus.
Bus Routes to Girona City Centre
If you are traveling from the Girona Airport to the Girona City Centre, you can catch the Service 2 Airport Bus. This bus runs at regular intervals from 05:30 until 12:30, 7 days a week. Full bus schedules can be obtained at the information desk, or call (0034) 902 361 550.
The route from Girona Airport to the Girona City Centre will take approximately 25 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you reach Girona, you can catch the Girona Train to Barcelona or connecting buses to Calella, Blanes, Figueres, or other resorts.
Bus Routes to Costa Brava South

Although there are no direct trains running from Girona Airport, it is fairly easy to take a taxicab or an airport bus to reach the Girona Train Station. Taxi fare from Girona Airport to the train station will cost approximately €20, so be sure to factor this into your total transit budget.
Once at the Girona Train Station, you can catch a train to the Barcelona City Centre. The Barcelona trains depart every 30 minutes or so. Train fare to Barcelona will cost anywhere from €6.00 to €20, depending on the specific train and the time of day.
